Here's our step by step guide to how we build your garden room.
We build our Garden Rooms in the exact same way as a timber house, using only the highest quality materials which all come with long warranties.
Step 1:
Preparing the ground and laying a solid foundation.
Ground screws are screwed into the ground and adjusted according to the required level.
These are useful for gardens with sloping terrain or uneven surfaces.
Step 2:
Manufacture and install the timber frame made from treated construction timbers onto the ground screw fittings to the specific required size.
Step 3:
Insulate the base using 100mm thick insulation board.
This is cut to exact size and fitted between the joists.
Start to Erect the timber frame walls.
Step 4:
With the foundations and base in place we now construct the timber frame walls for the garden room leaving space for required doors and windows to be fitted.
Internal joist work is left open at this stage to install insulation board later.
Step 5:
Construct the timber frame roof on top of the walls, again leaving joists open to install insulation board later.
Install waterproof breather membrane to walls which will prevent moisture from reaching the OSB boards.
Step 6:
Install required electrical wiring throughout walls for hook up later.
Fit 100mm insulation board to all walls and internal roof structure between joists.
Step 7:
Install furring strips for cladding required.
Fit EPDM rubber membrane roof fittings.
Step 8:
Clad external walls using Hardie Plank of your colour choice and board internally.
Fit EPDM rubber membrane roof ensuring a watertight seal on the roof.
Step 9:
Plasterboard the internal walls.
Step 10:
We then professionally plaster your internal walls ready for you to decorate plus fit skirtings.
Step 11:
Install the garden rooms doors and windows securing to the wall frames sealing edges.
Finish the doors and windows with edge trims.
Step 12:
Fit all required light fittings along with plug sockets and if required electric heater.
